Feel the LOVE of Lost Vette Brewing

You’re probably here because you love beer, love brewing, and/or because you simply want to understand more about this Lost Vette Brewing thing!  Well, you’ve come to the right place… and in case you haven’t figured it out yet, LoveBrewing.com is a play on the “lo” from the word lost, and “ve” From the word vette… plus it’s a lot easier to tell people to check out LoveBrewing.com than it is to check out LostVette.com, but both will get you here!

The short version of the Lost Vette story is… I sold my Corvette and then decided to build a garage for it!  The garage really became the Lost Vette Brewhaus.  The longer version is available by checking out “The Story” link above.  In addition to the Lost Vette Story, there are a several other things I’ve captured on this website about craft beer, brewing, and what’s been happening with the Lost Vette Brewers.  I hope you enjoy cruising around the website, and please feel free to send me your comments… Prost!

LoVe Aventinus Brew Session

With four brewing sessions on the Sculpture under our belts, Mike and I decide to brew a clone of one of our favorite beers. A German Doppelbock. Yes, this was what we attempted to brew on our very first brew session using the sculpture. This time we hit all our numbers and the beer was excellent.

American IPA Brew Session

Mike the ‘hop head’ Moses finally convinced me to go bitter! This was a big beer and it had an IBU rating of 68. We affectionately named it LoVe Hoppy Ale. This one didn’t stay around long either!

Third Brew Session on the Brew Sculpture

In preparation for the opening of the Brewhaus, Mike and I brewed an Irish Red Ale. Designed from one of my favorite recipes, this beer was called LoVe Red Ale. Let’s just say it didn’t last long!

Second Batch Brewed on Brew Sculpture

As the Brewhaus continued to be built, brewing also continued on the Sculpture. Based on our experience with the first batch, Mike and I made a few adjustments and then brewed an American Wheat. We called it Sculptured Summer Ale. It turned out to be a very nice beer that really helped us through the hot days working on the Brewhaus.

2006.06.25 – The First Batch is Brewed on the Brew Sculpture

First Batch Brewed on Brew Sculpture

Even though the Brewhaus was not finished, Mike and I went ahead and brewed under a pop-up tent in the driveway. We both knew we couldn’t wait for the Brewhaus to be completed before we tried the new equipment. In the end we actually ended up brewing a couple of times before the Brewhaus was actually completed. Here are a few photos from the very first batch we brewed.

The first batch with the Brew Sculpture… pouring in the malted barley.

… in goes more crushed malted barley.

It’s a wheat beer, but still needed to get the mash stirred up well.
